in Memory of Rose

I recall when I first adopted Rose at the Humane Society she was so cute and looked just like a little kitten even though she was not. Rose was a great addition to our family she was so playful and loving and enjoyed being with us. You could just call her name and she would come running down. I truly miss her. We had to put her down in November 2008 after she was losing the battle with chronic kidney failure. She was so happy and loving even though she would be having bad days we would have liked to keep her for longer but as a family we decided to have her put down before she started to suffer we wanted her to have a good quality of life to the end. Our other cat Sammy is still with us and he was missing his companion so we adopted a Siamese cat named Zoe she has a mind of her own. We love you Rose and miss you. You will always be in our hearts.

  1. Hi Margie,

I can sympathize with you. The very first love of my life was my Shih Tzu - Pia Marie. She was adopted as well. I had her for 17 years. She had a good, long life. She lost her battle with heart disease in August of 2008. I still get quite emotional to talk about - or type about it. Truth be told, she had a face only her mother could love, and was not very friendly to others. I was completely grief stricken with her passing, but I turned it around as best I could. Two days after she left us, I adopted MayeMaye. I knew I would never stop grieving Pia's death, but at the same time there are other good dogs out there being euthanized, because homes aren't available. I could help stop that, and did - for atleast the four I have today. Thank you for adopting your babies Margie!

  2. Hey, Margie. Pets are so special and it is such a blessing to have them in our lives. I don't even want to think about the day that my dog is no longer with me. I commend you for adopting because you are saving the life of a pet that might not have had a chance otherwise. Great post and great blog, Margie.
